2022 Jeep Compass

The 2022 Jeep Compass is available in five trims: Sport, Latitude, Latitude Lux, Limited, and Trailhawk. The Latitude Lux is new for 2022. Jeep updated its exterior to mimic the newest pair of SUVs in the 2022 Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer. Its front fascia has slimmer LED headlights situated on either side of the seven-slot grille. The SUV comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and heated mirrors. Moving up trims gives you up to 19-inch wheels, fog lights, and a black-painted roof. The Trailhawk trim has its own off-roading features, including tow hooks, roof rails, and off-road tires.

No matter what trim you opt for, all 2022 Compass models come with the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 177 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. For the Sport and Latitude models, front-wheel drive comes standard, while all-wheel drive is optional. On the other three trims, all-wheel drive is standard. Those front-wheel-drive models come with a six-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel-drive models have a nine-speed automatic transmission. Also, when properly equipped, the Compass has a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds.

When it comes to fuel economy, the 2022 Jeep Compass achieves decent numbers, especially considering it doesn't have a hybrid option. Expect to get an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway on vehicles with front-wheel drive, while the all-wheel-drive models get similar numbers at 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

Stepping foot inside the 2022 Compass, you'll immediately notice how spacious the cabin is. Those riding in the front sit on supportive and comfortable seats, and the rear-seat travelers enjoy a whopping 38.3 inches of legroom. Cargo space is plentiful, with 27.2 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and almost 60 cubic feet when those 60/40 split-folding seats are folded down. These numbers are some of the highest in its class.

A revamped infotainment system is also a highlight inside the 2022 Compass. It has an 8.4-inch touch-screen display operating the latest Uconnect 5 software, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. To keep everyone connected, the vehicle also includes two USB ports and dual phone connectivity. If you want a larger screen, you can upgrade to receive a 10.1-inch touch-screen display.

Every 2022 Jeep Compass is outfitted with an abundance of driver-assistance safety features. These features include blind-spot monitoring, active lane control, and automatic emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection. In all trims except the base one, the Compass includes automatic headlights. Available add-on features include a surround-view parking camera system, park assist, and limited hands-free driving.
