2023 Wagoneer
The Jeep Wagoneer packs the many benefits of Jeep's rugged design into a sizable family SUV. Be sure to try it out if you need an SUV a little more compact than the Grand Wagoneer, but with more or less the same benefits. Here's everything you need to know about the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer.
Trim Levels
Four trim levels make up the 2023 Wagoneer: Series I (or just Wagoneer), Series II, Carbide, and Series III. There's also the Wagoneer L, which is a full foot longer, extends the wheelbase, and has the same trims and features. For 2023, the Wagoneer L is also longer than before. The Carbide is all new and adds gloss-black interior and exterior details. The Carbide is for the regular Wagoneer body style only, not the L. Looking at the Series I, the exterior is nicely appointed with 18-inch painted or 20-inch machined aluminum wheels and an available tri-pane panoramic sunroof.
Engine
The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer has two engine choices. Up first is a 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI with 392 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque. You could also equip any trim with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet. Both get an electric eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission suited to all manner of driving tasks. The 2023 Wagoneer can tow up to 8,260 pounds with the twin-turbo engine, or a still-great 7,180 pounds on the V-8.
Performance
The Wagoneer is no stranger to performance-focused features. The 5.7-liter HEMI combines eTorque mild-hybrid assist and variable valve timing for a powerful, efficient output of 15/20 city/highway mpg. If you opt for full power with the 2.0-liter powertrain, you'll get nearly the same numbers: 14/20 city/highway mpg. The transmission delivers the right kind of power for highway cruising, towing weekends, and off-road adventures, and you can switch in and out of Electronic Range Select drive modes at any time.
Interior
The Wagoneer may be a capable SUV, but it's also richly decorated with Capri leather-trimmed seats on the starting Series I. Things get fancier with each higher trim, including available two-tone Nappa leather seating in Black with Sea Salt Gray on the Series III. The regular body style offers a substantial 27.4 cubic feet of cargo space, expanding to 42.1 cubic feet on the Wagoneer L.
For technology, a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 Nav touch screen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all standard, with over-the-air updates and three months of Wagoneer Connect app services. The infotainment system has a customizable home screen and up to five user profiles, as well as a valet mode for privacy. Even a set of dual 10.1-inch rear seat entertainment screens is available on Series I.
Safety Features
There's no shortage of standard features on every 2023 Jeep Wagoneer, like Selec-Terrain ABS and driveline traction control, dual-stage driver and passenger side airbags, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, a backup camera, rear collision mitigation, and active lane management features like lane keep assist and lane departure warning. A convenience group available on each trim will unlock different features, like a 360-degree camera mode, traffic sign recognition, side distance warning, a driver attention alert, intersection turn assist, and both automatic parallel and perpendicular parking.
