Features of the 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon

2020 Ram 2500
In addition to the many improvements made to the new 1500 half-ton pickup, the 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon includes better towing and payload ratings, more power, and exciting technology exclusive to Ram vehicles. Here are just a few features of the Ram 2500 Power Wagon you will want to know about.

Exterior

The new Ram 2500 Power Wagon sits higher and has a different metal content than previous models. There is more high-strength steel in its frame and it sports an aluminum hood. These two changes contribute to the truck shedding 143 pounds: lower weight equals greater fuel efficiency. Added insulation, active noise cancellation technology, new engine mounts, and new anti-vibration devices combine with a class-leading 0.409 coefficient of drag to produce the quietest HD cabin Ram has ever created. Perhaps the most noticeable exterior change is the large grille, which is now 30% bigger than previous models to provide better cooling. It also includes three new headlight designs: an LED projector lamp with active turning that allows for 15 degrees of travel as you turn your steering wheel, a full LED-reflector style, and a basic halogen lamp.

Powertrain

Expect to see the 6.4-liter gasoline V-8 engine with the 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon. Previous models saw this engine generating 410 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, and while specifics have not been released, we think it's reasonable to expect an upgrade of more torque and power. The eTorque mild hybrid system is also something to keep an eye out for, providing instant throttle response and additional torque at lower rpm.

Technology

The 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon offers a variety of multimedia touch screens including the 3-, 5-, and 8.4-inch options. An available 12-inch vertical touch screen, introduced in 2019, allows you to divide the screen in half, running two independent applications at the same time. AndroidAuto and Apple CarPlay both come standard with the 8.4- and 12-inch screens. In addition to up to three 115-volt, 400-watt outlets, you will also find five USB port throughout the cabin. A full-color, 7-inch, 3D-animated display is available for the driver's gauge cluster that allows you to configure how you want your truck's data to be displayed. Finally, the Uconnect multimedia system includes a 17-speaker Harman Kardon 750-watt premium sound system, including an 8-inch subwoofer for optimal sound while driving.

Safety

The majority of the 2020 Ram 2500 Power Wagon safety features center around hauling and towing. A payload/cargo camera assists in monitoring your bed's load with active gridlines available for hooking up gooseneck trailers and fifth-wheels. Back up to a trailer with ease thanks to the rearview camera that displays both sides of the trailer on the screen. Mirror-mounted, rear-facing spotlights assist in illuminating surroundings when backing up. Those looking for additional visibility should consider the available remote exterior camera that can be placed in various locations, including behind or on a trailer. Image via ramtrucks.com

4 Reasons to Love the 2021 Dodge Ram Rebel TRX

You know that a new vehicle is a highly anticipated one when everyone's talking about what you can expect from the ride. That's exactly the case with the 2021 Ram Rebel TRX, a truck that was first introduced at a concept show in 2016. Here are some speculations we hope are true about this pickup truck that will only amplify how excited we are to drive one. Adjustable Suspension Steering Ram trucks are known for their excellent handling, and rightfully so. The suspension found on these pickup trucks gives you power on the road and the ability to keep yourself and your passengers safe. With a strong suspension, your wheels remain where they belong — on the road — so you can navigate over nearly any terrain. Rumored to appear on the 2021 Ram Rebel TRX is adjustable suspension steering, which adds an extra element of control to your drive. Although it's currently unknown if this pickup truck will have its tried-and-true air suspension model or opt for a more electric system, a drive mode selector will be the base of its adjustable suspension. Now you'll be able to adjust important vehicle features, such as the throttle, stability, shift points, among other options. A Rugged Exterior The Rebel TRX is rumored to have an aggressive look on the road, with dual exhaust tips that are blacked out for a powerful look, tow hooks, LED brake lights, a large hood with marker lights embedded into it, and impressively large 37-inch tires. The proposed front grille and width of the truck will make it a force to be reckoned with. more Powerful Engine Options The Ram 1500 was first introduced in 1993, so this new launch marks nearly 30 years of greatness with these pickups. The performance on 1500 trucks is always impressive, but experts are anticipating that the TRX will be Ram's most powerful pickup yet from the 1500 line. The Hellcat engine, previously used in the Dodge Challenger, is a 6.2L supercharged V-8 HEMI that generates 575 horsepower, and rumors say that the new TRX will have the same. There are other speculations that the TRX won't have the same engine as the 2016 concept. Instead, it's believed that the TRX will offer up an 8HP90 automatic transmission that generates 707 horsepower. Only time will tell which option will be standard or if there will be an available option for drivers who want the most amount of power they can have. Off-Roading Ability The off-roading ability on the 2021 Ram Rebel TRX is expected to be pretty solid, with selectable modes to choose from, including mud, snow, and sand, as well as a locking differential so you can experience optimum control over how your truck handles the terrain. The rear locker allows for both wheels to become locked together so they can also turn in unison, making for expert steering with any level of available traction. Ever since car enthusiasts got a glimpse of the 2021 Ram Rebel TRX concept, anticipation continues at a new high every year. It may not have an actual launch date yet, but when it arrives, we cannot wait to welcome it to our inventory. Image via ramtrucks.com
