Harley Davidson MotorcycleWhen a day out and about town with your buddies is on the agenda, you’ll find plenty of things to do and places to go in York County. Consider these destinations for some fun time with the guys.

1. Harley Davidson Museum

Whether you’re a Harley Davidson bike or trike enthusiast, take a look at what goes into making the iconic motorcycle at the Harley Davidson Museum. Experience the history, enjoy the many exhibits, and take one of the tours to get up-close and personal with the sights and sounds that make these bikes stand out from the rest. The museum is open May to September from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Wednesday and until 8 p.m. on Thursday. From October through April, opening hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Wednesday and until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

2. Weightlifting Hall of Fame and Museum

For in-depth information and a walk through history, plan to visit the Weightlifting Hall of Fame and Museum, Monday through Saturday. The museum covers the many types of sports amateur and professional strongmen have participated in throughout history.

The tour is self-guided, so you can take your time at each exhibit such as statues of Bob Hoffman and Louis Cyr, a bronze bust of Steve Stanko, and a mural with Tommy Kono. Throughout the tour, you’ll see sculptures, trophies, plagues, Cyr’s original dumbbell, and vintage barbells. The museum opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. on all days except Friday, when the museum stays open until 6 p.m.

3. York County Ale Trail

Buds can get together for a tasty tour experience when booking a walking or bus tour for a York County Ale Trail experience. York currently has 22 craft breweries, and with a tour, your group will experience several with samplings of up to 16 frothy brews. The tour includes an experienced beer guide, samples, brewery access, brewery entry fees, a beer token, discounts, and cold storage for any purchases along the way. If you take the bus tour, it also includes water and snacks.

4. Escape Room Dilemma

For a night out with the guys that you’ll all remember, challenge your abilities to solve an unusual problem using your wits and wisdom at Escape Room Dilemma. Choose one of several intriguing rooms like Shafted: A Misguided Adventure, where you’ll make your way through the tunnels of an abandoned mineshaft, Revive and Survive where you’ll face extinction by a foreign overlord, or being sealed in a workshop where you must figure your way out in Sealed with a Bang.

The rooms are private, so it’s just you and your friends using brainpower to outwit the interactive puzzle that each room presents. At least four players are recommended but not required. Your group will have one hour to escape.

Whether the plans include challenging the brain, pleasing the taste buds, learning about sports history, or putting the pedal to the metal of a Harley, there’s plenty of activities for dudes and their friends in York County.
